Stressed out? Here are three botanicals that can Stressed out?

Here are three botanicals that can help manage your level of stress hormone, cortisol.

▪Ginseng
Several randomized trials support using Panax ginseng for hypercortisolism (high cortisol).
👉Dose: 200 to 400 mg per day if you tolerate it.

▪Ashwagandha
It is the most commonly used herb in Ayurvedic medicine. Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India. For more than six thousand years, it has been used to induce sleep. Ashwagandha is also used as a general tonic, to increase energy and improve health and longevity. I recommend it for the following symptoms: effects of high stress, anxiety, feeling of overwhelm, sleep issues, fatigue
👉Dose: 300 mg twice per day

▪Rhodiola
Rhodiola rosea is a plant used in Asian and eastern European traditional medicine to enhance physical and mental performance, stimulate the nervous system, fight depression, and improve sleep. It seems to alter levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin in the brain. Studies have shown Rhodiola to have an effect on stress-related fatigue, including improved mental performance and concentration. Another study suggests it may help patients with high perceived stress, anger, and confusion as well as generalized anxiety disorder.
👉Dose: 200 mg once or twice per day

Have you tried any of these to help manage your stress levels?

I believe women need to start paying attention to I believe women need to start paying attention to their health and hormone balance at a younger age.

Most women in their thirties, let alone their twenties, don’t give hormones a second thought.

They are like I used to be, and think of menopause as a cliff they’ll fall off of after age 50. No need to worry about hormones before that.

However, paying attention to your hormones at a young age can completely change your risk of disease as you get older.

Knowing how hormones work within your body and how they influence everything from your stress levels, your weight, to your emotional state empowers women and demystifies many symptoms that they experience and seek help for.

In my new course with @onecommune - Navigating Perimenopause and Menopause - I teach you my 3-step protocol, which has helped hundreds of women balance their hormones, heal their metabolism, and feel empowered through their late 30s, 40s, and beyond.

As you get to know and appreciate your changing body, you will welcome these transformative years as an initiation — a time to embrace with purpose and confidence.

👉Head to the link in my bio. From there you will see links to the course as well as a FREE master class that’s perfect for those who are not ready to jump into the full-length class.

When it comes to hormone balancing, it can be dif When it comes to hormone balancing, it can be difficult to know where to begin, especially when everything seems off.

If that’s the case, then know this: 👉 almost all roads lead back to cortisol.

If cortisol is one of your problems, then begin there.

Three quick tips for managing cortisol:

▪Try phosphatidylserine (PS) - 400 mg per day
▪Take omega-3s at 4,000 mg per day
▪Get off caffeine

And download a meditation app that you like and stick to it for several minutes a day.

Are these tips helpful?

Share them with someone you love who needs to de-stress right now.

Are you stuck in a pattern of glucose burning from Are you stuck in a pattern of glucose burning from eating sugar or excess carbs, elevated insulin, and even insulin block?

Over time, that can lead to other hormone imbalances and serious health problems. When you eat more than your personal carb limit, your body burns glucose, setting up cravings for more and triggering fat storage.

Over the last three years, I uncovered what worked, and what didn’t, to get my hormones in the target zone, burn fat, and lose weight.

The solution is achieving metabolic flexibility, the healthy metabolic state in which the body shifts efficiently between the two main fuels: glucose and fat. It’s the ability to adapt to changes in metabolic demand, like when you eat an apple (rich in healthy carbohydrates) versus a slab of salmon (rich in healthy fat), or when you go for sixteen hours without eating and your body needs to burn fat to create fuel.

If you have diabetes, are obese, or have an “apple-shaped” body, with more fat at the waist than the hips, then it’s likely you have metabolic inflexibility.

Metabolic flexibility exists on a spectrum, ranging from normal metabolic flexibility to inflexibility.

Indicators that inflexibility is setting in include:

▪rising blood-glucose levels
▪insulin resistance (when insulin starts to rise in the blood),
▪prediabetes
▪early damage to blood vessels
▪abnormal lipids
▪hypertension
▪obesity

The good news is that if you are metabolically inflexible, or on your way to inflexibility, we can reverse the condition with precision medicine to improve the way you eat, move, think, and sleep.
