Want to get your questions answered?

Sign up for my Q&A – Thursday 10/20/11 at 10am Pacific

Register right here and you’ll be directed to ask a question, if you want!

We’ve got some great questions in the hopper, including:

  • I’m about to surrender to the idea of being 10+ pounds overweight. Exercise and a reasonable diet aren’t working. Any recommendations?
  • I’m so easily distracted that I need to take a VERY deep dive into a project in order to finish. Is there a solution?
  • How can I lose my muffin top after menopause?

Do you ever wish you could dial me up and get the answer to that one question?

You know it’s got something to do with your particular mix of hormones, but you need specifics. “Dr, Sara, just point me in the right direction.”

Now you can–this Wednesday.

You’re invited to join me for a live Q&A on Oct 20, 2011 at 12pm Pacific.

Click here to get the dial-in and to ask your question.

I received so many potent, poignant and titillating questions from the people who registered for a group call last week that I couldn’t possibly answer them all in one hour. Even though the call was about sex drive, your questions were all over the place.

I love this. It means you already get how interconnected hormones are with what comes up in the body and mind–from short attention spans to muffin tops.

Get the dial-in and to ask your question.

A few of the great questions already submitted:

  • How long will it take my adrenals to heal if I’m doing all the things known–such as diet, supplements, sleep, no stress, etc.? What’s the most natural way to heal weak adrenals?
  • What can I do about depression and low energy around my period and ovulation? Life is stressful, but it seems worse during these times. I don’t feel like myself.
  • My tank is empty. I’m running on fumes. What do you suggest?
  • Sleep is more disrupted. Help me!

Add yours when you get the access info. Or, hit reply to this email.

Until Thursday!

Dr. Sara

P.S. Have a friend who wants to know how hormones connect to stress, low energy, and muffin tops? Why not invite them to the call? And then there’s Mission Ignition. The adventure begins on 10/25.

We’ve read what you eat on a daily basis…can you share what you take and do on a daily, monthly, yearly basis as well as what you avoid that keeps you humming happily and healthy? Thanks!!!

Such a great question… how much time do I have?

What I do daily: wake up and take 3 deep breaths. Ideally I’ll meditate for 30 minutes but I’ve got 2 kids and breakfast to deliver, so that doesn’t happen as regularly as I’d like. Sometimes it’s 10 minutes in saddle pose, a yin yoga pose in the middle of the day. Depends on what my body desires as a way to balance my nervous system. I try to tune into my kids as part of my energy practice. I do a “fountaining” exercise that pulls energy from the earth into my body, and I “fountain” the energy to my family.

I love exercise but have to be efficient about it. I run twice/week but only about 3 or 4 miles. One day per week is with a dear friend. I walk with girlfriends for 90 minutes on Saturday mornings and we do “burst exercise” like walking lunges and squats at the local track in Piedmont.

What do I take? I’ve got a thyroid issue that requires support and I’m taking currently Naturethroid 1/2 grain. I never take too many supplements – I can only keep my focus on a few at a time. Right now I’m test driving some ADD supplements, including one by Thorne. I take adrenal support, including Maca and Ashwagandha. When I travel or feel I’ve got a scratchy throat, I take isocort. Fish oil. Lots of fish oil. Usually 5000 mg/day. Magnesium 450 mg at bedtime. I’ve also got a Chinese herbal regimen I’m on to help with my overactive liver chi and underactive adrenal/bladder chi. I’ve also got a telomere-lengthening protocol. Let me know if you want to hear more about that.

I try to finish my day with an inventory. What did I do well? Where do I need help? What are my fears? What am I grateful for?

      Hope that helps, Susan!

    ~ Thank you, Dr. Sara.

    Enjoyed the call!

Looking forward to reading your blog …. My concern is about sleep … I want to sleep like a baby again. I wake up many, many times during the night; I don’t get out of bed and do fall back to sleep. I’m 59, almost 60, have very mild hot flashes…. I have an autoimmune disease so I can’t take melatonin and need to be careful when taking herbs. I was thinking of taking Pueraria mirifica to address the sleep issue, however after listening to your call regarding herbs not being as effective once one is in menopause, was wondering if it would be worthwhile. The sleep issue is a very common concern with many of my friends in my age group.

Was wondering if you know of a good Kaiser gynecologist that you could recommend. I would certainly appreciate it. I’m at Shadelands Kaiser in Walnut Creek. My gynecologist, who was quite wonderful, retired.

What is your take on HGH? Just saw a product called IGF from Austrailian deer antlers?
